Suomen Sillikonttori, established in 2015, is proudly the only herring processor in Finland. Our core mission is to restore the value and appreciation of Finnish herring craftsmanship, with deep respect for traditional methods. All of our products are made in Finland — a fact recognized by the Key Flag Symbol, a mark of Finnish production.
We operate in the traditional herring harbor of Röölä in Rymättylä. Our facilities, purpose-built for herring processing, along with three modern packaging lines, ensure the highest possible product quality and a reliable cold chain from initial storage to logistics for all herring and Baltic herring products.
Our retail product selection includes hand-packed herring and Baltic herring products, as well as vacuum-packed whole herrings and herring fillets. Our Food Service selection features herring fillets and pieces, as well as Baltic herring fillets in a variety of sauces and packaging sizes. We also produce specialty products and private label products.
The cornerstones of Sillikonttori’s operations are responsibly sourced, MSC certified, high quality raw materials, Finnish labor and partner networks, and environmental responsibility across all activities.
For us at Sillikonttori, high product quality and safety are a given and we operate under the BRC Food Safety Management System (grade AA).
